I'm trying to get more info on designing a private small strip. Canat be rtocket science huh?

I've read some of the AC 150-5300-13 part 2 about using a wind rose to layout the orientation but didnt understand that yet.

I've contacted the FAA but so far the local guy I was told to email wont respond.

Anyways, i can get a weather station and over the next winter take wind speed and direction readings and just use that. Haul in the gravel and im done.

I'd rather LEARN more about it if possible.

Anyone got any advice for books or phamplets on building/designing an airstrip.
