I'm designing a fast airplane with fairly high (20 Lb/SqFt) wing loading and need to get the stall down to a reasonable speed. I like Fowler flaps, but it seems slotted flaps might be as efficient with less work/drag penalty. Are there any references with detailed drawings?
Also, I'm thinking of LE slats ala A-6 Intruder, just a simple hinge on the lower surface and a well-fitted upper curved cavity/cover (all composite). Oh yeah, did I mention the retracts and variable pitch prop?
I know it's a lot of complexity and work, but you don't get something for nothing.:lick:
