So the obvious question is, why is it still for sale.
In my opinion Hollmann should have either fixed up the stall problem or completely scraped the design.
The Freebird (or Discovery) was not the only canard to go into a flat spin during testing. I well remember reading in Kitplanes where Danny Maher was nearly killed when the prototype Velocity he was testing went into a flat spin and he could not get it out of it. He was lucky to walk away from that accident, though afterwards he did admit that he moved the C of G too far aft.
The Velocity has turned out to be a fine plane. Perhaps the freebird/Discovery could have a fine plane also with a bit of re-design. That's why I'm curious why Hollmann has walked away from it.
Anyway it's water undere the bridge now.
