I was wondering if there have been any two stroke engines designed to use plain journal bearings and pressure fed lubrication. If there is a way to isolate and collect the oil expelled from the big end & main bearings we can use the crankcase to charge the intake. Piston pin, rings and cylinder lubrication can be taken care of using premixed fuel or oil jets like on a Rotax E-TEC.
The difference between this and existing two stroke engines would be the reliability and longevity of a 4 stroke and power of a 2 stroke. What do you guys think?
