When considering modifying a side by side seat aircraft to tandem (in my case a c-85 powered kr-2s converted to tandem)what is the best course of action regarding the wing- keep the wing the same span or narrow the center section of the spar carrythrough the same amount? I'm wondering if by not narrowing the center section the same amount as the fuselage you would increase the cantilevered portion of the wing which could increase stresses in the root and other locations.
Or maybe I'm just thinking about this too much?
I wonder what Dick did when he turned the rv4 into the rv6?
