Naca airfoil performance in fabric wings

Why do you need a shorter wing VS better flying airplane? If it flies like a dog, not going to have many fans of the design. Most of the LSA fabric planes have about 130 sq ft area. They might not be going the top speed you want.

The problem is that after all the possible tricks, the wing becomes 185ft^2 quite large for this kind of planes (40% more).
