Looking for advice/info on the two Rotax 2t engines I just brought that have been sitting in a shed for 20yrs+ they look to be new still sitting on the little wooden shipping pallets from Rotax. Ones a 447UL model no. 3499154 and the others a 277UL with a prop gearbox.
The 447 is missing the pull start cover and spark plugs, has a gear on the crank pto output for a gearbox, this is the one I'd like to get running but wanted the advice and knowledge of the guys on this forum what prep needed to be done, pull the cylinders to check for surface rust on the crank? Maybe a vacuum/pressure test first to see how well its sealed up and a compression test?
Pto seal looks good but 20-30yrs old.. no carbon in the exhaust ports just an oil film and pistons look new. Will post some photos so guys can see what is the condition of the engine. 277 engine looks new never used too.
