Hello from Hershey PA
The first half of a century is already behind me and I think about building a kit plane for more than ten years now, basically since I got my private pilot license in 2000. Pretty early after my license got issued I "fell in love" with the airplanes from Vans Aircraft. Uncountable times I was short before hitting the order button on Vans webpage, I never did. There was always something or somebody that could convince me that this is not a good idea.
Anyhow, three years ago I moved from Germany to the US and I haven't flown since then.
So here I am, soon with enough garage space to start a project. I still like Vans airplans and looking for an LSA the RV12 could definetely be an option. However, looking at the kind of flying I wanna do (more recreational, some back country, maybe floats, not really cross country) the Zenair CH750 might be the better choice and it is also full aluminium airframe and has a good safety record, which is the kind of airplane I am looking for.
Anyhow, this time I am pretty sure that I will hit the "order button", as soon as our house is finished in December, depends on how much money is left. In the meanwhile there will be some time to check other options and plan the workspace.
