Difference between the Zenith 601, XL, XLB, HDS? and the 650?

I heard there was some spar issues on one of the 601 models, I’m not sure which one. But I’m sure there were other mods too.

I’m going to be building a pulled rivet gas tank sealed with the Vans RV method for my Piet. I’m so excited about this part of the build (I’m going to actually buy the HomebuiltHelp scratch build videos) because my tank is going to be tiger moth-ish and will need an airfoil shape, etc.

So it actually got me very interested in the Zenith planes, especially since they can run quite well on Corvair power, which is what will power my Piet.

So as I start sourcing things like incomplete kits, what should I be aware of with the 601 and 650 designs. Thanks!
