This will probably not sound like the smartest question but I couldn't find a goods answer that was comprehensible to me.
In an airplane fuselage what are the purposes of a bulkhead? I know they provide an attachment for heavily loaded parts like wings or landing gear. But I also see them placed in the middle of the tailcone. Any good references out there?
