There was a homemade biplane glider, intended to be towed behind a boat, with a floating hull that featured water skis. It was in one of the mechanics / science magazines. I’ve only seen pictures, not the actual Aqua Glider. Some info here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Explorer_PG-1_Aqua_Glider
