    Hello Again

Thanks much! I usually try to find other sources for technical data, but sometimes... Good info here. Have a good and safe day. Chris

    Hello Again

Thanks autoreply! Yes, that seems the form of the function I'm looking for. Do not know what the coefficients are however.:ponder: Of course force will depend heavily on aspect ratio. Please advise on definitions; I'm a EE who's teaching himself aeronautics as I venture forth. Regards, Chris

    Hello Again

I was a part-time poster a few years back. Project then was a trike; that was too simple. Wanted a challenge and I got it...an autogyro. Will be visiting this forum more frequently and request any general engineering questions. For instance, the force on a symmetrical rudder of x ^2 area...

    Aluminum Prop Hub?

RenaatXS, Nice work!! Looks like my PSRU (eventually) will be just a bit longer than your Direct-drive flange adapter. I too am considering 7075-T6 AL for the prop flange of course the hub (commercial prop). Ease of machining (klutz) is important to me, even if weight loss (compared to 4140)...

    Composite gear for Zenair 701?

Hello, infrequent visitor to this group wants to know of collective experiences/comments/anecdotes using the Czech gear on the Zenair 701. I suspect most builders are using a 'Grove' AL spring. Thanks, Chris

    BMW K75 re-built

Sadly, must part with my re-built, re-torqued, re-sealed, re-re'd K75 engine. Includes BMW K1200 dual rads (unattached). Was going to use it on a trike (more on that later), but current plans need more ponies. These plants have been posted here before, and IMHO believe it would make a great...

    landing gear drop test

Landing gear is not subject to 'buckling' loads as MIT Calc computes. Buckling applies to equal loads applied at the defined (neutral) axis on the ends of the strut. The landing gear is subject to ineleastic bending along the axis (inelastic meaning the energy is absorbed in the gear...

    Mechanical propeller pitch control

Hello, you might look at these units. I have seen them offered for other root sizes than the GSC. Looks robust. Chris GSC Systems - GSC - GTA In-flight Adjustable Props

    Gearbox ~3:1 (+/-)

Hello Group, It's about that time. The beemer engine is ready for a PSRU. Anyone have a good Rotax 'C' box w/clutch they are ready to part with? Thanks, Chris

    WSA Nose Wheel Size

Hi all, Please excuse if this topic already exists. Am designing a WSA (trike) and am in a circular argument with myself and the design considering the preferred nose wheel size. Structurally, more 'beef' in the front would be beneficial in a front-wheel landing, but anything over 15 degrees...

    Weight of a radiator?

Re: Weight of a radiator? BMW K1200 Whilst looking for rads in my K75 Project, have considered the K1200 dual system which could be mounted similar to the 912 dual setup. However, weight penalty is high - an e-bay seller quotes "Dear ..." BOTH OF THE RADIATORS TOGETHER WEIGHT 7BLS AND 8...

BMW motorcycle engine for a plane?

My 2c to this discussion, I I plan on using an original ZEUNA 2416038 for my ultra-heavy trike (pusher) with a BMW K75. Will cut the three tubes perpendicular to 90'd's' from exhaust ports, weld on 1.25" X .042" ells, and ready to go except for end effector (direction). Duncan...nice site...

BMW motorcycle engine for a plane?

Hello Duncan, Hope your locational stability has quieted a bit. It seems I have developed some (hopefully unfounded) concern regarding the Rotax 'C' gearbox for the 4-stroker / larger HP engine in general due to specific impulse issues. These concerns are not based upon any technical specs...

BMW motorcycle engine for a plane?

Thanks Duncan, I would probably give some body parts to see what is used for linkage from the crank to the input of the PSRU. My engine was supplied with the original clutch and am wondering if I can used the spline fitting on the clutch housing (turned down) as coupling to the Rotax 'C' box...

BMW motorcycle engine for a plane?

Hi Kuba, Will be building a heavy trike over the next few (or many) months and have recently bought a K75 for the 'motive force'. I have many questions, but for now am wondering if a Rotax 'c' box would be a good fit? i will have to make a plate for adaptation, unless somebody has already...

    BMW k75 aero conversion

Hi Group, Been following along the Razorback with the K75 engine. I have just started the build of a K75 powered trike - details will be shared as they progress. I noticed that Duncan bought his from a dealer down-under for his use. I am particularly interested in details of the bell...
