    Cool New Canard Designs

I don’t think it’s fair to judge this program or it’s participants on the basis of a single quote by John and frankly, I’m a bit disappointed that the thread deteriorated very quickly into attacks on the project and it’s participants. I know both John and Jeff and they are honest, ethical and...

    Komet

Update It's been a long time between posts about my Jet Bug (renamed from Komet). This has been due to me needing to focus on my turbine engine development program (I am now posting under the handle of Turbine Aeronautics which is the name of my business). I anticipate that the Jet Bug will...

LSA - any deviation allowed from single reciprocating piston engine?

Thanks HW. This is part of the strategy. I have also reached out to ASTM since an ASTM standard will be a necessity.

LSA - any deviation allowed from single reciprocating piston engine?

Hi Floyd, I have been in touch with LAMA and the EAA about this exact point. It is highly likely that with the support of these two organizations I will be submitting a petition to the FAA to seek either an amendment or exemption to the CFR's to allow the use of turbine engines in LSAs...

White Lightning aircraft and kit manufacturing assets for sale

All the molds, tooling etc. as well as the under construction White Lightning have been sold. However, Will's race aircraft N25WL, known as Race 43 is still for sale. It will be advertised on Barnstormers again next week by Will's wife Gail. I have been helping her try to sell the aircraft...

Icon A5 Update - No Deliveries!?!

I agree about the maths. The basic numbers might have the warning bells ringing for us. However, the investors won't have thrown that sort of money at it without there having been a strong case made that they could anticipate the level of return that they would want. $100m should give Icon...

Icon A5 Update - No Deliveries!?!

Guys, there is clearly a lot of criticism being leveled at the Icon management, with a lot of talk about ripping off investors etc. Maybe, just maybe these guys hearts are in the right place. Maybe they are genuinely trying to get an exciting and innovative product on to the market. Maybe...

White Lightning aircraft and kit manufacturing assets for sale

I am in contact with the owner. Last time I spoke with her which was about a month ago, she thought she had a buyer for everything. I'll contact her to check on the status and if it's still available, I shall post here and pm you with her direct contact details.

    Jet powered Q1

Elliot Seguin of Wasabi Air Racing is definitely a man after my own heart. He put 2 X 85lbf jet engines onto a Quickie Q1. https://youtu.be/x_keYAFcsXU https://youtu.be/CMme-EwQgZ4

    Scaled Jets (F-16)

I've started a new thread about small turbine engines to prevent Acrojets thread about his aircraft being waylaid any further. Shall we move the turbofan engine discussion over to that thread and leave this thread to be specific to Acrojets very interesting aircraft project?

    Turbine engine discussion

In order to reduce the hijacking of Acrojets F16 thread which is about his aircraft, rather than the powerplant, I've started this thread to carry on the discussion about turbine engines as there appears to be keen interest in the subject. I'll start by adding to the discussion about turbofan...

WR24-7-2 For those that are interested in small gas turbine technology, the above link is an interesting one to see how a small gas turbine engine is constructed, albeit an older design.

    Project engine driving the turbine.

A few Chinese manufacturers of these types of turbine wheel are indicating that they are making them from Inconel 718c. I am not a designer or metallurgist so I don't know whether this material is acceptable or not but you may want to research it.

    Hey

Dynamite, I admire your enthusiasm and I fully support the passion you display towards aircraft. However, you need to adjust your method of communication to suit the target audience. It is accepted and indeed preferred protocol on these forums to give the title of a thread some relevance to...
