Small aircraft in the Smoky mountains

What about magnetic redrive? How much more efficiency do we get if a 1/2 VW's top RPM is reduced to 2500?

Small aircraft in the Smoky mountains

A gyroplane for the smoky is nice and all, but to fly Degrow's gyro, I think you are going to need a helicopter pilot's license. Please correct if I am wrong; love to fly a gyro with jump take-off capability.

3D printed Carbon Fiber Wing Ribs???

Keep in mind that PLA is at least 25+ times the density of the foam. You might have to add a lot of hollow spaces in the part to bring its weight download to an acceptable level. We can get some hints from the structure of human bones. Very large hollow space toward the center and smaller...

Flutter speed prediction using same methods used in AI

Found this paper. It is an interesting method for flutter speed prediction. I think it would be more accurate if GVT data is included as input. https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/full/10.1177/16878140211062275

3D printed Carbon Fiber Wing Ribs???

99 year old aeroplane with 3 horsepower takes flight!

I can replace that engine with a Hirth 23 50hp 2 stroke, and it will weight a few lb more. Still meets part 103 requirement, but with much better performance. :) This is plane's spec General characteristics Crew: 1 Length: 24 ft 3 in (7.39 m) Wingspan: 37 ft 0 in (11.28 m) Height: 4 ft 9 in...

99 year old aeroplane with 3 horsepower takes flight!

I would like to find out what the max take off weight is. If that thing can fly like that, a 20hp engine put on a ultralight can definitely fly much better. P.S. I think I heard someone in the crowd said it used 2000ft of runway.

    Hello everyone,I am from China。

Yeah. You are mostly right. However, flyers in China just fly without filing a plan because filing a plan costs more than the fine itself. Everything is commericalized in China. If you own a plane, you will get calls everyday from the CAAC (China Airline Always Cancel) asking you to fly since...
