Does anyone have a model for the AZUSAlite 5" wheels and/or a prop?

Looked on grabCAD and 3DContentCentral with no luck. Looking for the AZUSAlite 5" wheels, and a 60" two-blade or 52" three-blade prop with hub. (For mounting on a Hirth F23 in pusher configuration) Prefer solidworks, but can deal with STEP, IGES or X_T/Parasolid. Thanks guys!

What ultralight for high and hot operations?

I see what you mean, but I think to do that, you would have to redesign the fuselage substantially to be able to add enough structure to mount two engines prop distances apart. I think the gained weight in structure would offset the advantages trying to put a single engine on it.

What ultralight for high and hot operations?

Yeah, it likely will be parked for July and August regardless with Monsoon season. Don't need to catch any lightning! :dis:

What ultralight for high and hot operations?

As close as I can get to a true ultralight. I've been kicking around the idea of a gyrobee as well, but, having trouble finding hot and heavy data on it too.

What ultralight for high and hot operations?

My initial plan was a UltraStar with a 503, but with the limited prop clearance, wasn't sure if I was going to get a big enough prop on it.

What ultralight for high and hot operations?

Really wanted to build a Kolb Ultrastar, but after realizing it would perform poorly in my area, I pretty much abandoned that idea. (Unfortunately!) I'd like to build or buy a ultralight with the following characteristics: Able to fly during the majority of the year, given my environmental...

How much interest would there be in an Ultrasonic Altimeter for ultralights?

You are absolutely right, there isn't a particular need. It's a fun project and a cool little gadget. It will work over water as well as land. Most I've done so far with the sensor is hold it out the window of the car, and it seems to be quite accurate. (1cm resolution)

How much interest would there be in an Ultrasonic Altimeter for ultralights?

How much interest would there be in an ultrasonic altimeter for ultralights? I found a sensor with a 10 meter/30 foot range, self calibrating for temp/humidity. Should be useful at 60mph forward speed according to the vendor, down to zero. Environmentally sealed. I'm building/programming a...

General Questions for redrawing the Kolb Ultrastar plans in CAD.

No way that I know of off hand, or spending 5 minutes at the solidworks forums reveals.

General Questions for redrawing the Kolb Ultrastar plans in CAD.

And that makes perfect sense. I knew I was overthinking it. I usually would loft if I were doing it for work....but I was going with the fast and easy method. I may go back and clean those up at a later date, but just working on getting everything on there. I realized that when I started the...

General Questions for redrawing the Kolb Ultrastar plans in CAD.

Another random question.... Why doesn't the Ultrastar use clevis pins in the aileron and elevator linkages? The only one I could see a clevis being a problem is the cross bolt through the lower elevator bellcrank, because the same hole is used to mount the right elevator pulley. Tweaks to...

Made CAD models for the MGL Xtreme EFIS and V6 VHF COM...

For all interested, I CADed up the MGL Xtreme EFIS and V6 VHF COM on a whim today. Feel free to use them in your designs! https://grabcad.com/library/mgl-xtreme-efis-1 https://grabcad.com/library/mgl-v6-vhf-transceiver-1

General Questions for redrawing the Kolb Ultrastar plans in CAD.

That is also an excellent point. My experience with traditional aircraft control systems is fairly limited - I work in the UAV industry and everything is direct to servo. It just makes me cringe seeing direct metal on metal contact. I did find some welded tube ends that will do nicely and are...

General Questions for redrawing the Kolb Ultrastar plans in CAD.

Dana, That solution is awesome. I considered doing it, but seeing that validates my idea. I also was going to install some adjustable rubber bumpers/leveling feet for the stops on the elevator bellcrank - couple of jam nuts and blue locktite, and they shouldn't vibrate loose.

General Questions for redrawing the Kolb Ultrastar plans in CAD.

Working on redrawing the Kolb Ultrastar plans in SolidWorks as planning for a future build. Making some basic tweaks such as tig welded gussets for the wing ribs, versus stamped, modern hardware in the case that some hardware isn't still available. Going to also upgrade to a Rotax 447 or 503...

Rotax 447 Ultralight Airplane Rebuild (56k Beware) - Top End Teardown, pg1

Richard, My goal here is to get the crank out of the case, just so I can clean the case halves and replace the gasket. I have the capability to measure the tolerances of the crank on a buddies lathe - he rebuilds and scratch builds race "kart" engines. I do NOT plan on attempting to pull...

Rotax 447 Ultralight Airplane Rebuild (56k Beware) - Top End Teardown, pg1

Re: Rotax 447 Ultralight Airplane Rebuild (56k Beware) One of the rings are creased, and the maintenance schedule says to replace them. So the tool you describe is a Y, with the ends bent 90 degrees, short sides of the Y go to the slots in the fan, and the long side goes outside to the...
