I'm using Pro/E Wildfire 2 and trying to model my carbon/glass/styrofoam spar for analysis in Mechanica.
I've found the Pro/Compsite module, which allows one to model cores and plies and then "solidify" or "cure" them into a single part. Trouble is I can't figure out the logic behind placing the plies. I can get a (2D) base quilt into the part, and put (identically shaped) plies onto it, but can't get any sort of 3D core on, nor can I see how to use a 3D base quilt.
I'm used to modelling solids - and don't properly understand the logic that governs quilts.
Anyone have much experience with Pro/E, or know a good place to find help? Bear in mind that the "some guy at Uni gave me a copy" license I may or may not have doesn't lend itself well to asking PTC themselves (I've looked on their site, and can't see any composite-specific tutorials other than the included online help files).
Thanks in advance.
