    Austro engines AE300 for homebuilt?

Well you seemed to have killed this thread somehow Bobby. How can we get it going again? I was enjoying it.

It's not that a plane will pop out. One day you'll find a plane under all the dust.:gig:

    Electronic Engine Controlls

I considered Tracy's, but it didn't make to the short list. Remember, I test these for a living. Talk to me on plane day. Mike

    Electronic Engine Controlls

I've been looking at several PCMs. Specifically, ACCEL-DFI, AEM, EFI-TECH, F.A.S.T., HALTECH, and MOTECH. The Motech unit has my nod so far, but I've only been looking at the specs for 2 days...

Are they off of the Davidson x-way? (the first paved x-way in the country, I believe) I've been there many times.

Fiberglass - how it's done on a foam core

Trim it to size after it cures. You can use dusts template/router method. It works like a champ!

    Best Glue for wood

The sills have been covered up by aluminum flashing by the previous owner. The flashing let rain water seep underneath and soak the flashing. It probably had been doing this for more than 20 years. I''l take a couple of pictures and show you later.:dis:

    Best Glue for wood

dust, As you know, I've been replacing the original windows in my house with new ones. I've found most of the sills have dry rot to some extent. It would be impossible to replace the sills without a major tearout of the window, trim, and frame. I was wondering if there was some kind of...

    new member that makes dust

Sid, It'd be swell to meet you here in Michigan. I'm one of dust's slaves and help make plane parts on the weekend. I rode my Harley to Oshkosh last year. Mostly in rain on the way back. The bike broke down the night before I was to leave for home and a guy in the Lincoln arc welding...

    Please Help a Friend

The electrons in wire tend to congregate at the surfaces. The more conductors the better, but don't overdo it. The extra cost isn't worth it. Besides, it's harder to trim and crimp the real fine stuff and not nick or cut some of the wires.

    fabricating an engine mount

Mike T. Manual, as in using a torch. As opposed to sticking the whole thing in an oven. (blast funace?) Just conjecture. I've welded a half-dozen things in my life. I did take a materials class in college though.

    fabricating an engine mount

Mike T, If the manual normalization is done, couldn't it be done section at a time? Do a section or leg. Go through the cooling process and then do another section that overlaps the previous. Shouldn't go out of wack then.

    fabricating an engine mount

:o he he he The side lot will be cleared out tomorrow for the garage. This evening I moved all the firewood I cut up last fall (when my hand was borken) and I have someone coming over tomorrow to cut down the remaining locust tree. He'll cut it up into firewood for me and clear out all the...

    fabricating an engine mount

Heat normalizing is heat treatment at a temperature above the transformation range and it creates a phase change in the metal's microstructure. You need to find the transformation range of your steel. Maybe when you get it together and run it red hot, it will be normalized.:D We'll have...

    Label that Cable

Hmmm, I used the Brady thermal wire label machine here at work. It has the .5 in wide, .75in high, .375in writing area label. I didn't see that one in the catalog. It's a nice machine and I know I will be using it again in the future,
