    Flying crowd

All good points. I just never had a great desire to fly. It was mostly about transportation for me.

    Flying crowd

Instructor called distraught and asked where am I because we had an appt. I am sure that I didn't schedule an appt. So he didn't show up the next appt. Everyone else seemed to act like they knew and seemed distant. Another instructor told me to "smile or I'll kick your ***". One of the...

    Flying crowd

I've been thinking and training for pilot's license for some time. And my general feeling is that a fraction of the pilot community tend to be emotionally tempermental people. I passed my written with an 87. But I just don't feel a sense of trust. I would have to rely on many people to keep my...

    Easiest to Land...

I know that I've asked a similar question before... Wouldn't the Zenith STOL be the easiest airplane to land for a beginner? Would it be more forgiving if your approach is too high or low?

    Rans S14 or Titan Tornado

I'm thinking that maybe since I live in the most corrosive city that I should go with the Rans S14. It also looks a bit more easy to build than the Titan. I will only have a one car garage. I think that I will have enough room for most of the work.

    Rans S14 or Titan Tornado

I have been thinking about these two airplanes. 1. I'm looking for the least difficult to build. 2. Reliable and quiet engine such as the 912. 3. Easy to fly for a beginner. 4. High visibility of a pusher.

    Zenith STOL wing...

Is it true? That the airplane was designed not to gain speed during a dive (nose down) into small landing strip. I'm guessing the flaps would have to be down. And the wing drag must be considerable.

High Blood Pressure = No High Altitude

On Justanswer.com, I just got a response from a doctor that specailizes in aerospace medicine. He said that I'd be okay to fly under 8,000 feet as long as my blood pressure was under control. And that I can get my medical as long as my pressure is under control. With all the concern over failing...

High Blood Pressure = No High Altitude

The source of info: two bloggers said that their doctor advised them not to travel to Colorado for vacation because of their high blood pressure. I suppose the higher alititude would create more pressure inside the veins increasing the likelihood of a cerebral stroke. Which is what my doctor...

High Blood Pressure = No High Altitude

I just read that high blood pressure people should not travel to high altitude destinations for vacation. I don't know what duration. But I think I know why I'm getting sick now. I only have 5 hours of flight time. Curious, what altitude am I required to reach to finish my private license.

Tired after car trip or airplane trip?

:ponder:If you had to compare how you'd feel after a long 3 hour car ride to an hour flying, which makes you more tired?

    Escape from New York

Is this the only movie with a glider in it? That glider was cool.

    Flat Turn ??

This is what the plane looks like. Shape seems to resist spinning. Sky Arrow

    Flat Turn ??

The Sky Arrow designed for surveillance. I was thinking that the plane was probably more flat turn friendly to keep the FLIR camera clear of dipping wings.

    Flat Turn ??

I read the review on the Sky Arrow 600. Author said that the plane could do flat turns without impunity. Is doing flat turns usually a dangerous thing.

    Kitfox Popularity Theory ?

I read that Kitfox was the second most popular kitplane ever. Vans was first. Is there a design reason or a marketing reason why this kit plane was more popular than say the Zenith 701?
