    Fullscale Fw-190, where to start

That is amazing work right there, I hope to obtain that level of craftsmanship someday. This Fall has been my first semester of college and I was really overwhelmed with it and work, but now things are starting to slow down. However I have had a lot of time to think this project over and now I...

The 'daydreamers' thread...post your craziest designs and concepts here

Something I always thought would be real neat is a big brother to the Prowler Aviation Jaguar. It could use the Falconer V12 that the Thunder Mustangs use. You could have a normal model with room for 2, and then a sport racing model with room for one, clip wings, slick canopy etc.. I've always...

    Pilots who write.

As a young person myself I agree with this. The people my age are mostly getting into aviation because thats what their dad did for a living. There doesn't seem to be many outsiders anymore which is sad. I think one possible reason there seems to be less writing from the younger crowd is how...

    Fullscale Fw-190, where to start

I'll probably still be doing research by then. Just let me know when you get it finished. Avi- I've been over at fly pasts forum drooling over the meier motors progress thread. I'm attempting to download Autodesk Inventor tonight, I might start by drawing all the pieces for the Revi 16 B...

    Fullscale Fw-190, where to start

Thank you AVI I'll go check out that forum and look into that typhoon project. I'm planning on an ASh-82 right now because its been done in quite a few flugwerks, and it seems that owners have been able to get most of the glitches ironed out.

    Fullscale Fw-190, where to start

I know composite could make things a lot simpler, but I'm going the metal route. I have a friend who will be getting real involved in this project with me, and we both would like to build with metal. We just feel thats the way to go for this project.

    Fullscale Fw-190, where to start

If I were to go composite, would that require a lot of redesign to the internal structure? Also how do composite materials compare to metal in longevity? I'd also like to hear some feedback for the delcampe drawings, they're about 30$ cheaper than those on ebay.

    Fullscale Fw-190, where to start

This is one issue I've been thinking about, and I hope to find a way to make it work. However even if I make it work, it would be very tight, making it possibly a death trap in the event of a crash landing. I am working on this, I have a few books and study a lot about them online to. In...

    Fullscale Fw-190, where to start

I've never really been satisfied with scaled down warbird replicas as far as looks go. So thats why i'd like to go full scale. Skier, thats a great idea about contacting the smithsonian. TFF, i'm pretty sure all of that tooling and rights went to Gosshawk Unlimited in Arizona.

    Fullscale Fw-190, where to start

Having grown up in an aviation family, and reading all the books on warbirds and classics has made me want to own a fighter. Sophmore year of highschool I decided I'd like to build one from scratch that I can start when I'm young and finish when I'm 40-50ish, which I know is a huge undertaking...

Thanks for the welcome Mr. Ferguson. East TN sure is beautiful. Did you ever visit the TN museum of aviation out there in Sevierville by any chance? I've been thinking on volunteering there, it would be a great way to build cross country time as well getting to work on warbirds.

Thanks everyone for the welcome! Choppergirl, I'm about 40-60 minutes away from Nashville bmjc, I'm aware of the low beginning cost, and the possibility of having to start over if the airline kills over. As for the warbird piloting, I plan on going through the route of knowing people as you...

Hey everyone, I'm from middle Tennessee. I've been into aviation and cars for as long as I can remember, and I'm a huge fan of anything warbird or antique. I just graduated highschool, and I'm planning on attending Middle Tennessee State University where I will be doing their pro pilot program...
