75% Convair 48 Charger: What would it take?

Since you are all worried about engine-out on the Charger..... Let's change the plane to the OV-10 Bronco

75% Convair 48 Charger: What would it take?

This military prototype reminds me of the "blown over wings" of my RTOL research days. And since a homebuilt fighter is impossible like everyone says, how about this? Except it would be 75% size, powered by piston engines and has alot less load - 500lbs+258gal. fuel+pilot Orig Specs Crew...

    RFP - Rudimentary Fighter Project

Hi again. I'm back at it. Although i have totally different circumstances altogether. I have now ditched my personal GA project and sold the piston engines. Now things have got dirty awfully near my country. That whole thing with the West Philippine Sea and the UNCLOS tribunal case. The...

Prop Efficiency Myth - Is a Sigle Blade really more efficient?

hi. i'm making a high AR flying motorglider model i glide-tested it and it's good, with good sink rate. the next step is putting the motor, but i can't quite decide what kind of prop to use. There is a popular myth that single blade props are more efficient because of the "cleaner air"...

    Goal: Stealthy Wooden UAV

Maybe this? longer wings would be useful.

Best aircraft for 26m x 65m grass field

i don't have a US credit card or dollar bank account to use when buying aircraft plans, and local banks charge sky-high prices for such transactions.

Or the Chinese mainland, where they ALREADY have missiles aimed at the PHL, or any other claimant to the Spratly's for that matter.

Best aircraft for 26m x 65m grass field

i need something simple enough to copy and build from a 3-view. an autogyro is obviously too complex to do so.

    Goal: Stealthy Wooden UAV

Maritime Surveillance, for starters. Programmable would be good, and the robotics guys here got it covered. Plan B would be cruise missiles, again made of wood, in the thousands for an all-out saturation attack. perpetual flight? nah, too insane. and it would be visible to passive radar.

Best aircraft for 26m x 65m grass field

There is a 90% chance that they're corrupt and would likely accept 1000 bucks or more per test flight debunked, too complex

    Goal: Stealthy Wooden UAV

Hi. I'm going where no one in the homebuilder world has ever gone before: Stealth I have planned a side project, a Stealth UAV. I did a little research on the radar properties of materials and found, from least to most detectable, the following materials: Honeycomb Carbon Fiber - Wood -...

Best aircraft for 26m x 65m grass field

heated exhaust on tall grass = fire one of those built with ordinary pipe would disintegrate at half power and not to mention the possibility of being intercepted by the PAF (for being UFO-like)

nah, i intend to use the upslope part

Best aircraft for 26m x 65m grass field

Yes, it slopes down into the tall power lines end, it slopes up into the short trees end Update: I just spied another field that looks like it's more than double in length. But the problem with it is crosswinds

Best aircraft for 26m x 65m grass field

I'm back at it again. with a fresh start. This time, wingspan can be within 26 meters and can be of ANY planform or design, as long as it is STOL. Minimum HP at the moment is about 10HP (total HP of 2 motorcycle engines) but may be increased as i acquire more engines. You're free to suggest...

Lightest Plane in the World: Design Criticism and Discussion

i'm gonna sidestep awhile to my little, cheap drone project. gonna build 2 models, one is a tandem-wing fighter, the other is an asymmetrical tactical bomber. Both will be scaled up when i get some funding.

Lightest Plane in the World: Design Criticism and Discussion

Now i'm beginning to think a pterodactyl pfledge with canard but without the trike chassis. all i'll need will be low wing loading, high-as-possible AR, lack of bracing wires, light weight and maybe some more streamlining.

Lightest Plane in the World: Design Criticism and Discussion

based on the specs on wikipedia, i think i should double the span (which might help the super-low-HP engine i'll use)
