    choosing a kit bushplane

Just a suggestion for a plane to fit your wish list; Have you looked at the Murphy Rebel?a 2-seater with a relatively large cargo area, it can accommodate engines from 80 to 160 horsepower. If you're wanting an extra 20 horse, you can upgrade to the Rebel Elite...

    Hello Everyone !

Judging by the OP's avatar, the pilot should more than make up for what the plane lacks in the looks department... ;) Y^A^D

    Murphy Rebel (Back) In Production

Welcome to the HBA Forum! The Rebel is the plane I'd love to build... on amphib's, of course... But at the moment, my nick still applies, and most likely will for a few years yet... Anyways, any questions you have, bring 'em to these guys -- there are some great aviation minds in here. Y^A^D

    20B three rotor first start

on first fire-up, it looks like it threw a chain or something (it landed under the black stepstool in front of the right wheel) Was that something important? Y^A^D

    Merry Christmas

I got a plane under the tree!! Well, it wes a 1/24 scale DeHavilland Beaver plastic model, but I thought it was the coolest thing from my sweetheart... I'll try to get some pics up sometime... once I get around to putting the stickers on it... Merry Christmas! Y^A^D

Building on a budget - alternative engines.

The Rotax 912 is made by Bombardier, who make Ski-Doo... essentially, it's the same engine as out of some of their Ski-Doo's, with perhaps some mods to make it more reliable... I'm sure someone more knowledgable will chime in, with better info... Carry on Y^A^D

Have Helo now time to build a fixed-wing....

Hi, Tom...! Welcome to the board! As soon as I read your wish-list, I immediately thought of the S. Littner line of planes, all of them plans-built, all of them wood and fabric, and some trigears... don't know if these are fast enough... if not, there's Osprey Aircraft's GP-4, with a cruise of...

Why can't I just get in?

This is where I have to stress agreement; Of all the decisions you've made concerning the issue - some good, some not quite so good in some opinions - I think your decision to ask people in here of their opinions before going out there was the best one you've made yet. I'd rather get to know a...

    Bizarre Homebuilt

All of a sudden, I'm imagining these kayaker daredevils -- the ones who drop off a 20' waterfall, into the pool below -- tempting fate with a wing, off Niagara... no need for a step there... hehe Y^A^D

    Dimpled Golf Balls

I seem to remember an article in (kitplanes?) a few years ago, where they applied a 'dimple tape' to the leading edge of a prop, and it had the same results as OzExpat described... but my memory is very foggy about it... Y^A^D

    Late To The Game

I'd say, given the average age of people getting into building and flying, you're not late to the game - you're likely right on schedule... :D Welcome to HBA.c! Y^A^D

nerves (or something else) of steel

I don't remember where I first heard about these vids, but if I was in the cockpit, I'd be stinkin' up the place on an approach like this... http://youtube.com/watch?v=zAfQwDizpRo Y^A^D
