    Sold PLANS for Homebuilts

I'm moving this to it's own thread: AIRCRAFT PLANS - FREE (for cost of shipping) My EAA Chapter 91 found a large box of plans on the doorstep this month and is offering them up for FREE for the taking. I looked them over last night, and they appear to be a mix of plans, drawings, and...

Parts For Sale VW 1835 complete engine

I have a 56 X 52 prop for a VW hub, 6 bolt pattern. I'll measure the size and post it. It's not part of this auction, so I'll post separately later. Right now, I just want to sell this engine.

Parts For Sale VW 1835 complete engine

Better to have it in your hangar than mine! According to Denny at Liberty Landing, this 1835 would be perfect for that airframe. I just read a posting in the KR Forum about an engine for sale in the deep Missouri Ozarks for $7K, though it is a 2180. Denny flew to LXT a few times to show us...

Radio Interference with new LED Landing lights

I replaced my incandenscent GE bulbs with LEDs and they cause a buzz in the headphones when on. I think I heard that it was a simple fix, with only a resistor needed inline. Myquestion is where should the resistor go, and how much resistance should I use?

Parts For Sale VW 1835 complete engine

It's an Ellison throttle body, now sold/serviced by nVAero. Note that it's also located at the top of the engine, not underneath. Supposedly lowered drag produced by the nose of the airplane. Used a lot on WW2 aircraft. I thought it might increase fire probability, but because it's an Ellison...

    Hoop Gear Thoughts

Ever consider a Grumman gear leg? It saves a lot of laminating work, and strong enough for a much heavier plane. Should be tall enough. I think they are about 24-26 inches long and raises the KR2 high enough for a 56 inch prop.

Parts For Sale VW 1835 complete engine

Thanks for the encouragement- I just posted it there for $4K - thank you 1Bad88. Responses from HBA will get price above. Must mention this Classified, to get the discount, or respond through this forum. I'm either rebuilding a runout O-200 or a Corvair. I have both, that's the reason for the...

Parts For Sale VW 1835 complete engine

Selling the VW engine that came with my KR2 project because I want more than 80+ horsepower. Selling it with the starter, Diehl accessory case with alternator, starter, dual auto spark plugs and wires, and one mag. (Most in our group use electronic ignition in place of the second mag)...

    Favorite Stripper

When purchasing fire extinguishers for hangars, my local EAA chapter was looking at the average dry-powder extinguishers. Seemed that the baking soda in them would cause an insurance company to total the airplane, because the particles would get into all the rivet holes, seams, etc, and sand...

Parts For Sale KR2 Project - Complete Airframe, Lots of extras

Sorry, Jason, been busy this weekend with Chapter 91 business & flying Young Eagles, & working & a Chapter recruiting drive. The plans are in a 3-ring binder, with serial number, and the spars were signed off before closing, in the plans. From tailpost to firewall, the boat is 135-1/2 inches...

Parts For Sale KR2 Project - Complete Airframe, Lots of extras

This is a slightly stretched KR2 project, with all the parts and subassemblies to complete the airframe. The workmanship has been rated by KR owners as excellent, even exceptional, with a well thought out plan that paid attention to detail. Weights on the project are right on target to result in...

Parts Wanted used Corvair Conversion Manual

I'm looking for a used 0100 Corvair Conversion Manual. Have built an aircraft VW, I just want to see how much work building a Corvair would be.. If anyone has a spare or old copy, I think that will let me know if I should buy the new manuals from them.

Lamb undercarriage in a KR2 - seeking any info at all

A prior owner was setting up retractable gear with this, but I will be happier with fixed gear. Do you have any additional info about the Taylor monoplane gear, Don? I'm asking because the nose gear has a spring in it, and bounces nicely. However, the mains don't give at all. Makes me think...
