    New Guy,

Pietenpol Air Camper, hard to get more straight forward than that. It‘s all wood, easy to fly, two seats, so you can have an instructor teach you how to fly. Cheap to build and to operate. Ther is an annual fly-in just before Oshkosh each year. Good luck

    Raptor NG Discussion

Geap is a typo, it should be Leap. The CFM Leap engine was the follow on to the CFM-56 engines.

Why do you think that that is true? Can you provide any data or calculations to support that statement? Thanks

    Raptor NG Discussion

Yeah, at 3500kg/7700lbs, that will work(not). IMO This is a joke/distraction meant to keep the attention off of the failure of Raptor1 and his poor pilot skill/judgement. And it’s working.

Again, it all depends on the wording in the LLC agreement.

A $20,000 loss is a $20,000 loss whatever label you put on it. I didn’t respond to Peter’s proposal as I was not willing to take any more risk than the $65 processing fee to Escrow.com so I didn’t do any additional due diligence such as asking for a copy of the LLC agreement. I don’t know if he...

The $20k “deposit holders” were $2k deposit holders who converted their refundable deposits into a $20,000 at risk equity investment. For this investment they received a guaranteed fixed price of $120,000 for a flyable Raptor, a .25% share in the Raptor llc and advanced in the queue for deliver...

It would be negligent or incompetence to not test the wing spar Imo. Certainly any reputable Director of Engineering would have done a sand bag test of the wing spar. I didn’t see it in any of the videos maybe it was left out. Wasn’t Jeff Kerlo Director of Engineering? We could ask him.

Scientists Turn CO2 Into Jet Fuel

Nature already does that, there are called trees. Eats the CO2, releases the O2, stacks the C as cellulose in the form of wood.

Raptor will never become what Peter intended as stated in his spec sheet. It’s like my 8yr old designing an airplane. Physics won’t allow it.

Don’t worry, it won’t get that far.

Wrapping Fiberglass around Aluminum t increase strength?

So back to your original question, I’m not sure what you mean by “help the integrity of the strength”? Do you mean increase strength or prevent corrosion or something else? Is the original strut/tube strong enough to meet the design loads? If it is then you may be adding weight without...

Wrapping Fiberglass around Aluminum t increase strength?

Put another way, imagine that you have a rubber band that can lift 1000 lbs and a steel cable that can lift 1000lbs. In theory you could lift 2000 lbs. In practice, the steel cable will stretch until it snaps well before the rubber band begins to load up.
