    We used explosive rivets when refurbishing ex RAF Canberra bombers for the Peruvian air force back in 1975. There were corrosion issues with the explosive charge if I remember correctly.

    I went to the Royal Air force museum at Hendon yesterday as I wanted to research 1st War one aircraft and was much impressed. The rest of the museum is huge and has some very interesting exhibits. ( and it's free! )

    The 3 books by Tonu Bingalis ( sorry about the spelling ) back when the EAA were a homebuilders source of information were a great start for me. written with a nice not too serious way of imparting the info .

    I have used Ajax abrasive cleaner to good effect and also very fine sand when working on F18's in Kuwait, plenty of that around.

    Mine is the Falconer version supposedly an ultralight, I had to position the engine quite far forward for C of G concerns hence plenty of room for a scuttle tank,.

    I have a 3 1/2 gallon tank in my Flea, you can see it just behind the instrument panel. I have it there to gravity feed the 1/2 VW. you could probably squeeze in a 5 gallon one, but I was trying to keep within the 103 weight limit.

    Finishing up a 1932 BSA Sloper while I wait for El Mirage dry lake to dry out for the maiden flight of my Flea. Trying to train out new rescue cat not to sit on the laptop when I am looking at Homebuilt aircraft Forum.
