    I've been told by two different builders and a rep from Vans that it isn't possible to do the RV-3 as a tri-gear, as it would mess up the CG and balance. I'm not an engineer, so I didn't argue.     Thank you for the welcome. I beg to differ re: batteries don't have enough energy per pound. Both Bye and Pipistrel have flying aircraft that have demonstrated up to two hours endurance at 90-100hp. Bye has sold hundreds of the aircraft already, and the certification is still underway...

    I'm looking at the TAF Sling 2, the RANS S-19 Venterra, and the Vans RV-12 as a possible build, but I'm wondering if there isn't a single-seat out there in this same form, i.e. low wing, tri-gear, all-metal. Is there such a thing out there? And if it could be built to conform to the LSA...
