I just finished my canopy for the replica Corsair. I am really happy with the way it turned out. I had to make a series of plugs and molds for both the frame and canopy. It was a lot of work and took over a year. My pesky job gets in the way a lot.
A plastic shop did the actual canopy using my mold.They used vacuum to pull the plexi into the mold.
I spent the most time sanding the canopy plug to get rid of all imperfections so there would be no visual distortions. It paid off.
I will try to attach some pictures. Disregard the nasty paint job on the frame. It was a quickie I did just for the picture.
You can also see what a mess it made on teh fuselage, but that fuselage will never fly. I should have this posted to my website soon.
