    Keep hose clamps from damaging hoses

    I noticed on some older Mercedes fuel lines ends which had a short piece of hose slipped over ends where clamped. The only reason I can figure is too prevent hose clamp damage to the fuel hose. Also this extra hose does a pretty good job of retaining the hose even without a clamp. I know Germans...
