Terrafugia production seemingly put off for two more years.....

Yes, while being honest one may arrive at the conclusion that at the very least a water landing is something that may have some value vs. the requirement to utilize the same airports as "non-roadable" aircraft.

Terrafugia production seemingly put off for two more years.....

I just got a look at their VTOL dream and it makes Moller look sane. Basically, the proud owner will have the privilege of taking a less than desirable car flying and a less than desirable airplane driving. Sucker born every minute and all that...

    10 MOST DANGEROUS RUNWAYS

Well, I did look again mijn vrined. There is no gradient published. The departure procedure does not call for one to clear the mountain but rather...TURN. 11% is like coming out of Eagle, Co. This is no Eagle.

    Infos on Sonex building

Camillo, with all of the pre-fabricated options available for the Sonex right now combined with previous building experience, I believe you should be able to build one in 700 hours, maybe less...:)

    10 MOST DANGEROUS RUNWAYS

Really? The mountain is far away enough away as to not require climb gradients. A slight right turn puts one over the ocean. Could it be that they land over the beach because the wind is out of the east 90% of the time? I recall seeing "commerical" Otters landing runway 28. All of my landings...

    10 MOST DANGEROUS RUNWAYS

Don't know why St Maarten is alway on the "dangerous" lists. Runway length is adequate with no obstacles. Also, the "Katmandu" appears to be Lukla.

Kolb firestart II, T.E. to Prop distance....

I have the standard "plans" difference of about 5 inches between the aileron torque tube and the prop. You would probably not want much less than that as the prop pulses will tear up your gap seal. If that's not a concern then I don't see much else that might be a factor except for the...

^^^Wow, just wow.^^^^ This is Iceman, Maverick, grand adventurer, butt-hurt because his story was quashed, not exciting, rejected, boring, full of fluff, exicted by Grandma's stories, without a pitch, signing off for the evening. You all are killing me...:)

Wow, so much negativity in a "recreational" forum. Your way or the highway, heh? You guys are great motivators for the newbies, I'll bet. First off, the editor never read the article because he did not want to see it. It was never sent. So, who knows if there is a "compelling pitch" or not? He...

    oh, no! eaa membership expiring!

Recently, I submitted to the editor of Sport Aviation a cross country story that I had written. It's the story is about two homebuilt airplanes in formation flying from Kitty Hawk to Catalina Island. To me, such a story is interesting, inspirational, and educational. However, I was told that it...
