I get that a 2 stroke would be good replacement. I just despise 2 strokes. I have the kfm and not using it. Maybe on a modafied cri cri at some point. Reliability and fuel efficiency are priority.

Also i can safely derate it to 40 hp. I previously built a 1/2 vw and they just dont make the power and they are 1960's technology. Not enough cooling and in 1/2 form they take a lot to ballance them.

Its application mono wheel just wont do. Ive chosen bmw r100. I know people will say too heavy and im adressing that. Im in lines weight wise same as an industrial v twin. My reasoning for not doing a v twin conversion is you buy an engine and rip everything out and hot rod it to make more...

Seing the 26# ballast is that on the nose ? Ive heard lots of weight up front needed with the kfm. So does that mean possibly a heavier by 26# 4 stroke could be used and not have to have ballast added as it would just be in the "extra," weight of the engine.

    V8 engine Cessna 172

You are correct. They make really nice dry sumps. My only concern is the aluminum rotors and longetivity. And worst case scenario the belt comes off. The oem ls7 pumps are mounted on nose of the crank.

    V8 engine Cessna 172

Ls7 comes with a factory dry sump pan and tank. Only rewuires changing the oio pump for the dual inline pump pressure and scavenge pump, the oil pan, the tank and hoses. How much better can you get than oem gm parts for a factory dry sump.

Rules? Repowering certified aircraft with experimental engine

My thoughts were the same to speak to guy with the v8 in the 172. Luckily hes only few hours from me in florida. Long term i want to be able to fly similar to home built experimental. Not limited like exhibition experimental would be. Just read about that. Prety much like what mike patey has...

Rules? Repowering certified aircraft with experimental engine

As title states what is rules say taking an older cessna and repowering or powering it with an experimental such as an auto conversion? Does the plane now get registered as experimental? I could care less about it being certified. But buying an older airframe and putting an auto conversion on it...

    Reduction drives

Been doing my research and wondering thoughts of dual mass flywheels. Even though heavy they are designed for the engines harmonics. With the hobmnda v6 there are versions that had single mass flywheels and others with dual mass. When running a psru with an auto conversion would you run a duall...

    10/23 Raptor Video

Even engine plain bearings would work. You just account for the percentage of oil leak from them. Look at variable valve timing , they use just the cam journals to supply oil to ports in the cam thay advance or retard the cam gear and it works fine. If he copied that system it would work. At...
