    Demoiselle, and construction details

Does any one know if there were ever any drawbacks to the original design. Was it the power of the Demoiselle's motor? I am brand new and I am considering and almost exact construction of the original. I'd love to know how to improve on the original and still keep many of it's theme intact. Thanks
