Could a well seasoned homebuilder build himself a vehicle that run on the streets ?

Some states don't allow homebuilt cars to be titled. TX changed their laws a couple of years ago and boy did people get upset. This means no VW powered kit cars or dune buggies and no replica glass bodied cars, ie 34 Ford coupe (zz top car)

    PL-4, MacDonald S-2X, RV4, DA-2b/b scratch builds?

The Davis DA 5 uses the Continental 65. I would like to build one myself. The owner of the plans is in CA and a bit of research you can find him.

Low aspect ratio sport plane ideas

Interesting line drawing of the Little Bird. There are some artist ideas thrown in on this picture as the actual airplane doesn't match what I see here.

    Green Sky adventures Zippy Sport

Not Stits copy. Ed says it is a single seat version of a Tailwind.

Not a fan of that model of Ganagobie, but crazy about the original model. Here is a photo found on the net:

Transition between D cell composite skin to fabric wing surface

Streak Shadows has the fabric only wraps from spar to spar. No mechanical device to hold it down at the spar. I forget exact VNE, but thinking just a bit over 100 mph.

Is the Long EZ beyond its coolness a good design?

I sat in on a talk by Burt Rutan talking about all of his designs. He literally said the Long eze was not a good design compared with the ones he designed later. I bet there is video on youtube with him talking and you could hear him say it. I looked around the room to see if anyone else was...

Airplane For Sale As Seen on Barnstormers: Early Bird Jenny and Sky Pup Projects

Engine looks like a Lloyd snowmobile engine. I imagine the owner hasn't a clue as to what it is. The ad shows the lack of knowledge as to what he has.

How about a UL Buhl Pup replica?

Love that radial engine! This airplane reminds me of a larger version Mummert Sport plane. I always thought it was a good lookin bird!

    Airplane For Sale Maranda BM-4

This looks like something I would drag home. I have never heard of the design and Google isn't showing any photos of one complete. Was it built up from an existing aircraft? Looks like a converted high wing design. Do you have photos of it together or photos of another one together assuming...

    So, which build?

I would look around for a Quicksilver ultralight. They are quite safe, easy to fly, parts are available, you will be flying quickly and possibly same day if you find a good one. This will satisfy the fly part. Now the build part can happen after you fly the Quicksilver for a while. You will...

Low aspect ratio sport plane ideas

The problem with walking up the back of the wing is just that.....a PROBLEM. First you must build what is normally the lightest built part of the bird to support a human walking on it. That won't happen right there. Next is LAR aircraft in taildragger config sit on the ground at very high...

    Super basic retracting front wheel

Do you have a lot of photos of the facet opal? Where did you get those pics? Do you have anything showing wing construction? Thanks!

Low aspect ratio sport plane ideas

The first ARUP was entered by climbing in from below. That seems to be the best though a bit weird to normal way of doing things. If your not into a bit weird, you probably shouldn't be looking at LAR aircraft anyway. I like your design with all the windows across the leading edge. I assume...

Flight stick mixer of Little Bird by Milt Hatfield

No. Just taking up hangar space.

Flight stick mixer of Little Bird by Milt Hatfield

I own all the little birds. Could probably get you a pic of the mixer. It is very simple.

Cloud Dancer 67% Curtiss Jenny Part 103 Ultralight in the house.

I have one of these Jennys as well 35 miles south of Kansas City. Mine has never been flown, has no covering, and like you I know little about it. Does yours have a sling style seat in it that you almost lay down on? Toe rudder control? I figure mine is a Loehle or maybe a Squadron. I think...

Low aspect ratio sport plane ideas

I am also a fan of low aspect ratio aircraft. I haven't seen a posting on why the sky isn't full of them. Don't tell me it is because they look weird as that isn't it.

The CFM Shadow - thoughts, opinions?

I know there are Streak Shadows in the USA. Is there anyone on this group with one? I have a partially assembled kit and a 2 seat side by side version that no one has mentioned even exists. The side by side wasn't a product of David Cook, but rather a reverse engineered aircraft.
