    A New VTOL Aircraft Concept

Dr Hillberg, reinventing the wheel would be stupid wouldn't it? because we already have it! If you know history so well show it then, instead of giving this comment! Sometimes the "invention" is in the details, and this one might be slightly different from what we have seen before. SHOW IT! Sacha

Thanks STIHL... about 2-stroke techniques in a 4 stroke engine.

Hi Lemans, The best site about Citroen flat 2's is Cats Citroën Net Here you can find everything about tuning and what cilinders fit to what type of engine, and where to buy. There is also the flat Visa engine which is a 650 cc modification of the 2cv engine. It can be enlarged to about 750 cc...

    Bending Plywood for Leading Edge

Guitar builders bend the sides often by only using heat. They have a heated tube and move the wood against it until it is hot enough, it weakens and the wood gets surprisingly bendable! The wood sets immediately after cooling down and keeps the shape it was bent in. Of course they use only...

    Catenate

I am not sure, but I used to bike around a lake near huizen/almere (Netherlands) in those days an they were experimenting with the same type of wing on a catamaran with hulls of about 6 meters long. I used to stop by and talk to the team working on it, talking about the progress. They put quite...

    81 mph @ 0,5 hp...fastest a man can go in straight and level ?

So here some more off topic recumbent talk. I just want to say that control on a recument downhill is not a problem at all! we used to race them on indoor carttracks in winter and we beat the carts in round times! Its just that there are so many different kinds of recumbents, which makes it fun...

    81 mph @ 0,5 hp...fastest a man can go in straight and level ?

Downhill on a recumbent is much faster than a normal bike, the only technical problem is brake cooling since there is less air resistance the brakes have to do more work. It is the uphill part a recumbent loses speed more in comparison, because you can not change position once in a while. On a...

    81 mph @ 0,5 hp...fastest a man can go in straight and level ?

I think there is a lot to learn from recumbents and their record attempts, maybe not on the powerside but definitely on the side of reducing airresistance. The nice thing is to experience the effects of different degrees of fairing (or do you call it streamlining). I wasn't much of a sportsman...

Jim Marske Female mold spar construction

Thanks Orion for your always very clear explanations, and your patience with us! I also think the vacuum should be as optimal as possible, a vacuumcleaner is not sufficient at all, if you want to suck out as much resin as possible. That is why we use vacuum: to get a composite with the least...

Jim Marske Female mold spar construction

In response to Autoreply mentioning a vacuum bag should be more or less airtight, I have to stress it should be COMPLETELY airtight. Where there is a leak there will be no pressure and this ruins the whole idea of vacuum bagging.

Ooops! I missed the second page! So this question is out of date!

    Hi, from Colombia

Hi Eduardo, Like the looks of your plane, but in your structural drawing I wonder why the Booms (pods? don't know how you call that in english) don't reach to the main spar. Seems pretty essential to me. I also was thinking if it wouldn't be relatively easy to design the wingtips (from the booms...

Nice coverage of European static aircraft display

It is isn't it? Much better looking than a CriCri, would it fly like one? I believe the sale includes molds and other production stuff. Would be great if this was for sale in kit form.

Nice coverage of European static aircraft display

I saw this plane for sale on the net somewhere. It was a private design, I remember the designer died. I will look it up and post it later.

new builder interested in PIK-26 MINI-SYTKY

I don't know if still of your interest, but the SD-1 Minisport is in dimensions comparable with the Pic-26, has foam ribs. I got the plans and they are very good, and have visited someone who bought the 51% kit, he was very satisfied with the quality and customer care. He already built about 8...

Does anyone have more info about it?

Orion, Do I understand this right? your friend put an extra layer of aluminium over the popriveted skin?? Wouldn't it be structural/weightwise better to put on just one thikker skin, or was the improved aerodynamics his main goal.....I would like to know a bit more about this, if possible...

    Any HCI Radial Builders/Flyers??

HCI has a 5-Cylinder and is lighter than the Rotec. It would fit a smaller plane to keep the cost further down. It would be a lot cheaper to builld your own engine this way, lots of people are capable of doing this....especially rifle builders! Thanks for the link! Sacha

    New Design

Hi Bruce, No I don't have trouble with the Nomad, it is in Mint condition actually, that is why I never saw the interior of the wing. Before I take it up I want to be sure the basics are ok. "I can also (probably) put you in touch with someone who is well experienced in Honcho wings."...
