    Anyone know why this type of engines never caught on?

    Depends on whether its a mark 13 or not! If its a mark 13 then probably just the time to find it and repair/replace the nosecone - they usually didn't explode, just a muffled "clang" and everyone on the boat running over to the side to see if it had turned back towards its launch site or not!

    Shoot! That one is easy! take the ebony wood and wrap it in wheat fiber and then dip it in pine tar resin! Let it set out on your bedroom dresser overnight! Then, watch how far it flies when your wife throws it at you in the morning becase of the smell and if she is lucky enough to strike...

    Yep! Where were you last year when I needed ya? PAY ATTENTION TO THE LAST 3 STATEMENTS - I learned the very same thing, 3 different times, and it only cost me about $1500.00
