Are you talking about after Forrest Lovely restored it ? I saw it at OSH in the 80's I think. It was a beautiful restoration, I think it was grade A and dope.

    Spacewalker

The single seater is one that an A65 engine will give you adequate performance. There is still a lot of A65's around that can be bought reasonable. They are AIRCRAFT engines, thats a good thing.

    Spacewalker

Another cool design compromised by the second seat. The original Spacewalker was really cool.

Cassutt - looking for anyone who knows anything about it

At one time nearly everyone who was building a Cougar or Tailwind started with a lower half/nose bowl Rattray cowl. Sounds good that you made a connection. Rattray's used to display in the main vendor building in the 70's. Thats when I used to like the vendor buildings, before all the non...

Geo Rattray might be pretty old if still with us. The down side of the original EAA'rs. Most have gone west.

Cassutt - looking for anyone who knows anything about it

I see a road trip coming. The Rattray stuff used to be pretty good. I had a set of 500x5 wheel pants from Rattray that were nicely made. Most of their stuff was in blue gel coat.

Cassutt - looking for anyone who knows anything about it

The old front half that Rattray used to sell wasn't too bad looking but I've never built a cowl from one. My brother bought a cowl that Monnett sold in the '70s that was real nice. It started from the cockpit and went forward. We cleco'd the top and bottom together and my brother came up with...

Cassutt - looking for anyone who knows anything about it

On a small fuselage like a cassutt the weight isn't an issue in my little brain as far as powdercoat. I don't see a reason to go to the trouble. Poly fiber ep 420 is awesome. Your rate of climb may vary.

    "Scaled" L-19

The 64/65 C150's are my favorite. My dad bought two custom built Patrollers from Cessna in 65. They had long range tanks, higher amp generator, patroller doors and single controls. They are both still on the registry. Too bad they don't meet LSA criteria(like many of them) or I would have one...

Well I see a dyna focal ring that can be cut off and reused along with the throttle quadrant and wheels and brakes. Thats about it. Not enough there to hang in a restaurant.

    Bifocals / progressive eye glasses

I have vision correction for distance. I don't need correction for reading or up close working with my hands. I had a set of glasses ground with no correction in the lower half and I could never get used to the head tilt. I got by for years flying the commercial jets by taking my glasses off...

Flathead Ford V 8 Powered Arrow Sport

Flatheads in stock form were rugged for sure. Our airport truck was a 1950 F1 with a 239. I was 12 and taught myself how to drive. Good thing I had 160 acres 'cause I used most of it.

Flathead Ford V 8 Powered Arrow Sport

My brother has two model A hot rods. One has a small block chevy and the other one a flathead. He told me on the flathead he never spent so much money to make so little horsepower. Its sounds great though. Every fall there is an antique tractor meet near me. There is always a guy displaying a...
