    Four Stroking

I saw the configuration of the SD1. I “believe” one of his issues was the redesign of the intake manifold. Fuel injection is very dependent on the distance between the nozzle and the intake valve. His design changed that length.

State Aviation Department can assist. In my state if your A/P is not “legit”, the neighbors can shut it down. If you jumped thru the hurdles and your legit, your mostly immune from tort issues.

    Rotax 582 inverted

MACOWA is spot on. Yes inverted engines do require gravity awareness. The iridium spark plugs are also a viable solution. The water cooled engines do require some rerouting of the hoses for inverted installs. Rotax manuals explain this. Ideally inverted engines should allow sufficient cool...

    CGS HAWK REBUILT

Looks to me that he is assembling a project from misc parts and pieces. The registration & AWC will be a simple formality. If he plans in keeping the car attached it may a bit more complex.

What is going on at the FAA?

“Lost in Space” famous phrase: -Does Not Compute- Your pathway is not correct. AWC applications go through the FAA online Splash Portal. KitPlanes magazine has an excellent step by step article on this easy process.

    Two place CGS Hawk restoration

Holy mackerel. It was such a simple question. The answer is in FAA Order 8130.2J That plane can be a legal registered E-A/B. Minimum pilot requirement would a SP student certificate.

    ADS-B and Part 103

I was simply stating the regs. I do know this issue is on the desk of several entities. ADS-B out is required for certain UAV, Drones….etc. This topic has been discussed at “MOSAIC” conferences as well. A lot of new technologies are being folded into the working system.

    ADS-B and Part 103

The registration (N number) process and the AWC process are separate issues. You can possess a N number without an AWC however you can’t possess an AWC without a N number
