Small single seat 3 surface concept

When one of those Piaggio’s flies over at 30,000 I can usually distinguish it from everything else because of the noise it makes. The test model makes plenty of noise too. I’ve tried 3 blade props to see and it wasn’t noticeably quieter. That wouldn’t be an issue for me. Looking and sounding...

Small single seat 3 surface concept

Years back when I first looked at this configuration; The general rule of thumb was that the forward wing (canard) needed to be more heavily loaded than the main wing. Just as if it were a typical canard. My interest in it was driven by the fact that you could build a really small single seater...

    Painting with latex house paint

This was approx 8 years ago. I used the zinnser primer, behr and Coronado premium water based paints. I also tried some type of high solids stain blocking primer. colors were, white, yellow and blue. Also used black and flat black as a base blocking coat. My concern was not about the uv coming...

    Painting with latex house paint

Years ago when I tried latex over fabric, I found the primer/paint didn’t cover very well at all. The articles I read at the time seemed to favor omitting the silver coat in the covering process. Some said no, you need to do the silver coat. Others said the latex worked best applied directly to...

    Nice Simple Questions !!!

Yep. Many years ago we went through the Maule factory. One of the first things I noticed was a woman in her early 50’s mig welding a fuselage up.

Per the latest video flaps may be added for production. I’d like to see the canard elevator setup you would need for flaps on the main.

I thought the same thing about the tensioner. It may be tensioning “properly” but it just looks like it should be closer to the middle of the straight section of belt. On the subject of stability PIO, etc.. It’s looking much smoother with every flight. Something I don’t have a clear...

I feel it takes more discipline to slow a canard down properly. Those of us who can do it well can also bring 100 series Cessna’s in at ridiculously steep approach angles.

Directly over a heavily populated area. I would not have the same level of confidence in that power system.

    Riblett on Twist

On the subject of control line models. CL planes are really only “free” on the pitch axis. Yaw and roll are locked in to some extent by the lines running through guides in the inboard wing tip. Those lines have a substantial load on them, so the model can only move a relatively small amount on...

It was noted in recent videos that the static margin was around 8% Moving the CG forward will make it more stable.

    Aeromarine 60hp V-Twin Engine

Admittedly I haven’t seen one in person or found a whole lot online. But I have seen pictures of the engines used in SxS utility type vehicles with the CVT transmission removed. I’m familiar with other engines using a CVT and all that I know of have a removable CVT unit. They simply bolt on...

    Aeromarine 60hp V-Twin Engine

What is the difference between the engines with and without a CVT? Do they have different crankshafts?

    Raptor Composite Aircraft

As someone pointed out last time the wing flex was discussed, vertical movement (in the video) might be very small. The camera was likely very close to the trailing edge. The total movement out where the camera was might be less than an inch.

    Aeromarine 60hp V-Twin Engine

I was under the impression that the engine he is using is not the gaokin. I looked at pictures trying to find similarities between various engines. He mentioned can am engines in SXS type vehicles. If you pull up images of the Rotax HD-8 HD-10 engines they look like what he is using.

    Raptor Composite Aircraft

It looks like by now, some sort of vibration damper mount would be a standard included item with action cams. We used to make our own for vehicles. They were a pain, and bulky, but a must have. No jelly effect and a fixed camera perspective.

Surely, there is a way to turn off that feature in the camera to avoid what you see in all those videos. Doesn’t look useful to me for this application.
