    A new approach to bamboo, will this work for aircraft

    The biggest problem I found when I looked at manufactured bamboo lumber is weight. The books say the density is 31 to 53 lbs per cubic ft. Spruce is 27. The 31 lb stuff would not be a problem except it's like balsa, the light stuff is pretty weak. Glued up bamboo that I have found was way to...

    Classic fuselage designe but in carbon fiber tubes?

    Look up "forged carbon". It uses smaller cut up pieces of prepreg in a mold under heat and pressure to make an extremely tough and strong part. Lamborghini among others uses this process for some parts. I have looked at using carbon fiber tubes for some time and I think it's a great idea...

    Spruce or Fir supplier

    Look up Boulter Plywood on the net. They are on the east coast and supply boat builders. Excellent quality mast grade spruce and douglas fir. (vertical grain, clear).
