    Lincoln Sport Bi-Plane Plans

The increased Gross Wt modification. Fuselage metal work per Mooney Mite Homebuilt plans with heavier longerons and additional bulkhead at fuel tank. Uses the scaled to fit rearmost bulkhead from my father's M20A (original metal fuselage/wooden wing). This is the bulkhead that the tail section...

    Lincoln Sport Bi-Plane Plans

Al Mooney claimed the M-20 dropped 5mph true airspeed with the metal wings. The fuselage of the M20 was always metal. I fly an M18 (Mite) in experimental class that has changed the wooden fuselage to metal but kept the wooden wings. Can't see a reason to modify the wings.

    One Person Cross Country Options

Here's one of only a few in the experimental category. Put in a turbo Rotax and a glass panel. This one is CA65 powered with 30 gallons of fuel. Longest trip to date is 5.4 hours.

    1949 Mooney Mite M-18

No trouble hitting book (120-125mph) cruise at 75% down low and no reason it will not hit book speed of 130mph at 8000 to 10000ASL. CA65F in Mooney Mite Experimental (M18X).

Airplane For Sale Mooney Mite Project for sale.

Al Mooney designed six Culver's (His models M-12 to M-17) prior to his 18th design, the M-18 which was later called the Mooney Mite. The M-18 is a tricycle gear retractable. Most Culvers were tail dragger retractables, some of which designs were pilotless models used as target drones and capable...

Not an endorsement from me, I have not seen this item, however when an item this rare is available, I thought I would refer you to "The Mooney Mite Site.Org" Buy and Sell thread. It says will sell "Cheap". Safe to dream. Kevin Harberg

    New electric project

As mentioned in an earlier post, the Mooney Mite would be a great platform. 15:1 glide ratio, extremely light weight, and proven flight with 26hp (the original M-18 had a Crosley auto engine with belt drive reduction). There is a project for sale on the Mooney Mite Site with a rebuilt wing...

    Mooney Mite

Fred Quarles spent an enormous amount of time cataloging a complete parts list as well as providing an assembly manual to ensure this design would live forever as a homebuilt offering. I don't believe there was an intent to provide full parts availability to certificated or experimental versions...

The type certificate is still in the hands of Fred's estate. The 16,000 sq ft of certificated drawings are stored in the Smithsonian Institute. Fred stopped providing the drawings to the public as the outrageous aviation litigation practice stymied the entire aviation industry in the late 70's...

    Mooney Mite

The estate of Fred Quarles has reached out to the Mooney Space community to see if there are interested parties in taking over the M18 Type Certification. After providing the original certified drawings to homebuilders for the experimental Mite, Fred had one day hoped to re-design portions of...

    Mooney Mite

This particular Mooney Mite experimental has a full metal fuselage with extra bulkheads and larger than specified longerons. The furthest aft bulkhead (where the tail assembly pivots) is from a 1960 Mooney M20A (resized for profile). The vertical stab spar is double the original thickness with...

    Mooney Mite

I always thought the Rotax turbocharged would be similar weight and would allow you to take advantage of the 25,000ft wing.

You fit! The WW2 Spitfire pilot that brought this into Canada prior to its' complete rebuild and extensive modification (Hence Experimental), was a Tall, Big man. I have had some incredibally large pilots ask me at fly-ins if they could try and see if they fit. The best memory was a fellow that...

    Mooney Mite

This Canadian Mooney Mite experimental has the flat turtledeck, a bubble canopy, but not the inclined fuel tank as does the 1955 Mooney M18C-55 (the turtledeck tilts upward at the aft canopy rail to the pilot's headrest). Anyone of average height has no trouble with headroom. If you are long in...
