Crashes in the News - Thread

A man from Florida stole a plane from Palo Alto and landed it on the beach in Half moon bay, Dunes beach. He walked away and was later arrested by local sheriffs. I'm gonna go look at it because to land a plane on that soft sand and narrow beach is a feat in itself. This should be on a different...

Primer or paint for small parts

I've used a lot of rustoleum self etching primer, 5 cases, but inside the wings and other internal areas I use what zenith uses , it's kind of sticky, and is definitely not good to be used where you see it because it doesn't smooth out well. I'm on the left coast so everything rust out. It's...

    windshield mounting

Good point about expansion and contraction, I didn't think about that. Thats why bubble skylites make noise, I guess I'll stick with Zenith's recommendation of a cork gasket.

    windshield mounting

Has anyone used 2-way glazing tape as an undermount for windshield/ side window seal, I've used it a lot in glazing big heavy glass and it holds up well under windy conditions. To my knowledge is completely compatible with lexan and plastics.

    Land ownership ?

I fought a neighbor who tried to obtain my land through adverse possession, 3 years and 52 thousand dollars to keep what was always ours, the good thing was that he sued 4 of us. It was pure hell, when it was over we won but didn't recover any costs. The only winners were the lawyers. Settle...

Operate from 450 feet of grass?

I pretty much have the same issue, but with a little more room. I'm glad to have posted it and had good responses. As it is it will be a couple of years till I'm ready and by that time who knows how many more trees will die from the beetle or the drought or the fires, I've learned that sometimes...

    cup holders

I'm wondering why I don't see cupholders built in to center consoles, is it because like me, the need to pee would be more often had I been more hydrated? MY boat has a lot of them. I want to put one in my plane but haven't seen very many . Is it profiling as we are mostly older?
