    Concepts only: Doodles without numbers

per the Wikipedia page: "The Sigma was first flown in October 1935. It was judged dangerous to fly as it was hard to keep straight during take-offs and had a high landing speed of 138 km/h (86 mph; 75 kn). Its flight characteristics were never fully explored and it never reached its estimated...

3D printed Carbon Fiber Wing Ribs???

While the industry (Utility Pole) has this tech to pull tow through resin bath, then weave, it is highly specialized in purpose, and not reasonable for the homebuilder IMO. (Though CNCs weren't viable decades ago, and yet, here we are.)

@TurboMan - I fly RC stuff often and am learning to fly GA with a PP. Looking here (this forum) to see if building is for me. (Mike Patey makes it look simple). I think Pilot-34's response (below) sums up why you don't have an answer. If you frame the question parameters tighter it would have...

It's hard to see... there are gripping claws tucked up in. good for cargo fly-by snatch and grabs, and alighting on most roof parapet walls. :p @REVAN - have you considered building one as a RC Glider? (3d printed in LW-PLA), looks like a great bird. Also have you looked up the Prandlt-D NASA...

    Lincoln Sport Bi-Plane Plans

I am going to ask some possibly dumb questions. I want to State first that I am just beginning to look into the build aspect of flying. As such I have not done some detailed homework yet. As I have limited space to start (not uncommon I'm sure). I have wood working knowhow but structural...

    Lincoln Sport Bi-Plane Plans

My friends great uncle learned to fly with lindburg when home and build and flew this plane. This looks like a fun garage build. Is there an advantage to using traditional materials, or does this look like it might benefit from advanced materials and building technique?

RC Pilot journeying to a full-scale pilot from NC

That is the Reason I'm training on the 172. it seems a good choice for a family trip. I just don't see me owning one any time soon. :( I have found that the years in the NY area have made me a Sandwich snob. I have just now began to limit my whining to when I'm asked, why I don't order...

RC Pilot journeying to a full-scale pilot from NC

So at the moment, my homebuilt goal is to build for myself a kick-around plane. something for me to enjoy flying. at the local airstrip. (there is a strip down the street in Eastover NC.) Funding I know most folks get uncomfortable with money, but I want to know if the funds I have set aside is...
