    What happened to the Ultravair?

reo12 the home built world has a need for a four stroke 40hp engine. I don’t care about the 103 regs because I am an outlaw. But most want to conform. It seems like David has the right to do what ever he wants. I’m glad you are telling the story, no we know It was a great idea and it looks...

I don’t know how much time David has on his hands but he is in a good position to go ahead and develop a four cylinder corvair engine as well

    What happened to the Ultravair?

Some on dismiss the idea of Methanol injection but I still cling to the idea. Maybe just burn a high octane ethanol. That’s my plan and I’m sticking to it, unless something greater comes along Nitrous injection is effective at any rpm, used sparingly, the Ultravair will make a fine little engine

I think the Ultravair is getting ready to come back into fashion.

Help with UL design, need plywood

David Would you be willing to share a little information about the ultralight you are designing? Maybe the best UL wing design ?

Thanks a lot David. I am just learning about the design thanks to you, and it doesn’t take much time studying the plans to realize it is superior to pretty much everything else in that style of plane. Love the wing.

    Belt Drives and design

I have found out here on HBA that if you state a misnomer about an item, more knowledgeable people will correct the statement, and that is where the learning begins!

A CV is just for angular misalignment

    Belt Drives and design

An elastometric coupling is far different than the lovejoy

    Belt Drives and design

So, two systems, one without or very small amount of inertia and the prop system with a large amount

    Belt Drives and design

Nice Bill Thanks A shot from the hip says a lovejoy on the output shaft would break all the influences the power plant has on the driven mechanism

    Belt Drives and design

One has to first eliminate operator ignorance/stupidity. So is this topic just gonna go in random direction with no specific solutions/best practice? Could the discussion be limited to FF engines? Break out the engine hp ratings? Break out the gear drives Break out the shaft drives Etc Etc Etc
