120 gallons of fuel, 1,400 lbs useful load? (680+ payload?)

Right. And so the objective behind being a kit was mostly the cost factor, but also because I am using an experimental power plant, and I want to use modern avionics.

120 gallons of fuel, 1,400 lbs useful load? (680+ payload?)

Very interesting. I had no idea about this airplane.

120 gallons of fuel, 1,400 lbs useful load? (680+ payload?)

Boosted yes. Please define "heavily". For longer distance/maximum performance, cruising somewhere near FL200 for top speed. The power plant will produce 335 kW (450hp) on the ground, 225 kW (300hp) at altitude (boosted to 2.5atm) burning approx. 20gph with supplemental oxygen. The size and...

120 gallons of fuel, 1,400 lbs useful load? (680+ payload?)

Yes, the Velocity is close to having these figures, although sadly not enough useful load capacity. I wonder if these limits can be adjusted?

120 gallons of fuel, 1,400 lbs useful load? (680+ payload?)

This is the airplane I am looking for. The rumor is, these folks have shut down production.

120 gallons of fuel, 1,400 lbs useful load? (680+ payload?)

I agree the Epic would do the job, although that is more seats than I need. Plus the price... but what a beautiful bird she is.

120 gallons of fuel, 1,400 lbs useful load? (680+ payload?)

Yes. That would be the correct way to approach the problem. The mission is high speed cross country. Part of the time would be with 2 or 3 passengers for roughly <800 NM trips, but then the other part of the time would be with 0 or 1 passenger for >1,300 NM trips The powerplant will burn 20...

120 gallons of fuel, 1,400 lbs useful load? (680+ payload?)

This is a kit? Looks like a prototype only. I could not verify the fuel capacity for the Cirrus but based on my rough calculations it appears to only carry about 100 gallons

120 gallons of fuel, 1,400 lbs useful load? (680+ payload?)

Any kit plane that can carry 120+ gallons of fuel? I'm looking for a long distance machine. Ideally something like 1,400 lbs or more useful load, 4 seats.
