    I would say, set the RPM you want and use the prop to keep EGT’s in check. That’s what I am planning to do.

    I have a 582 in a tractor configuration, I idle it in descent regularly. It’s not a “steep descent” but I am landing on a 1000’ grass strip so the speed has to be kept in check.

    I have found a 2011 R1200 for a decent price with harness ECU starter maybe some misc parts. I know I’ll have to make the intake box and exhaust. what would have to be done to the harness and ECU? will a Rotax E gearbox work on this. I am searching the web, not finding anything definitive.

    On a 582, any idea which gearbox was used most in failures? I’m curious if one box may put more stress on the bearings than another? could it be a slight misalignment issue ( binding due to slip in the locating area or fasteners) I have a B box now, going to replace it with an E box soon.

    Is the 93/94 stock crank good enough for the 90ish HP? would the later crank be better ? anyone know which magneto/ stator is used? 582DCDI? I’m looking at starting a build , just trying to gather all the info of parts to collect and get set up right the first time around.

    Last I talked to him he says there are some flying now but hasn’t had enough feedback yet, will know more in mid summer , must be in cold areas, not much time on them due to weather. Could also be flying with no problems. I’ll keep in touch with him amd see what happens.
