    The slice of a wing profile well illustrates the need for a better explanation. Consider the centerline (leading edge to trailing edge.) There is a 'lift' bulge above the centerline; but then, why a bulge toward the ground beneath the centerline (lift toward the ground?)

Rockets have a disproportionate value for thrust and difficult guidance, while an airplane struggles to overcome gravity but is very much better at guidance (a human can easily guide a simple airplane while it would be a disaster...
