    912 in place of A-65

I got to see The Last Original fly over at Brodhead one year, I thought it sounded great.

    Interesting Characters in Aviation.

About 10 years ago, I was working for one of the Experimental EFIS manufacturers as a software engineer. Every year at Oshkosh we'd have dinner with Stein Bruch and his employees. Lots of beer, shop talk etc. One year, Stein got hold of a bunch of our logo'd shirts, and silk screened his logo...

Oh! another thing.. Go to the vintage aircraft parking -- you'll never have another chance to see 5 Staggerwings in one place.

There's tons of signs for the camping, and the organization is very good. After your first year in the campground, you'll probably rent a house for a week...

    modern equivalent to doped canvas?

I've built a few SOF kayaks, I used 8oz polyester from the kudzu craft guy -- it shrinks better than nylon and is lighter than canvas. Aircraft fabric works but its pretty thin, might be a little fragile if you drag it across rocks.

Stitch and glue (or tack and tape) airplanes?

Although, it could be done as an elaboration of the old SG-38... Hmmm.

Stitch and glue (or tack and tape) airplanes?

Hahahaha, I meant it as another idea, not an elaboration. Not saying it's a good one.

Stitch and glue (or tack and tape) airplanes?

Maybe a lower performance sailplane (l/d somewhere in the 20s). Launch from a mountain, land in the lake below.

Stitch and glue (or tack and tape) airplanes?

The original kayaks are different, they used stringers lashed to steam bent frames. Also interesting, and very light.

Stitch and glue (or tack and tape) airplanes?

Another construction method you might find interesting -- especially since it's sort of borrowed from aircraft construction is fuselage framed kayaks. This one is lashed together, which has some lovely properties -- light weight, stronger than you'd imagine, flexible. It holds up to abuse...
