    quicksilver tail brace wires

I also have them on my GT400 and can't tell any difference with and without them. And just like lucky dog, they get in the way. I'm just too lazy to remove them.

Possible new engine with amazing specs

I have a couple of nearly new in-the-box-Lossy page pulse jet engines for sale. Yes, they are extremely noisy. PM me for more information

    503 DCDI engine failure.

I had almost this exact same issue and two engine failures, one with a glide to land, the other on the ground ( I would not fly it agian until I figured out the problem) I went through seemingly everything, had the engine totally apart and back together again. Went through all the electrical...

Using a sprag/overrun clutch between the propeller & mounting flange

I'm with Yellowhammer on this one, but I don't want to contradict Rotax either. There may be more to his post or it may be out of context. I completely agree that .002 clearance can be problematic. I run it looser in both the 503 and 582. I ran a similar (if not modified and more powerful)...

    Rotax 670

Thought I'd comment , even though I don't have a 670. It has been almost year since I had Rotax Rick rebuild my 582. It has performed perfectly on my GT 400. So well, in fact, that I no longer wish that I had bought a 670 because the takeoff is instantanious and it easily tops VNE, so more...

Arctic Cat Snowmobile Engine - 2021-2022 Blast 397cc EFI 65hp@????rpm

I've been following the development of this engine for a couple of years and could see it as superior to the Rotax 582 on many levels. Any thoughts on this? "With an industry-first design that’s compact and lightweight (under 50 pounds), this 400-class (397cc) two-stroke single-cylinder engine...

60 Years of Popular Mechanics saved from the dump

It is sad that many beautiful collections of old magazines are having this fate. My late father had a complete collection of Le Cycle magazines, ( old bicycle magazine) and we have tried for several years to find a home for the boxes and boxes of them. SO far no luck and they may go the same...

    Shipping a Rotax 670....

Call Rick, He has very specific instrictions on how to ship. DO it his way! Basically you will buy a cooler ( he will tell you which one at Wal Mart) and cargo straps. Seems like overkill, but even with that mine came back with a bent mounting stud! The shippers are brutal.

    Rotax 582 exhaust

Speaking from snowmobile experience, you are going to have a very hard time dissapating heat if you put a pipe on a aircooled engine. Detonation becomes a big concern.

    What is an affordable ultralight?

I'm not sure why the 4 strke is a requirement, but that aside, an MX Quicksilver is around $4000.00 for a nice one, and a GT 400 is around $10,000.00. Both are huge bang for the buck, especially the GT 400.

What can I do with my 582?

"So,let's put that 4th post that you're about to make to the Forum right in the ole pickle barrel.......steady,steady" I'd rather you put me in touch with Gil Armbruster. Oh wait, you cant, he was killed in a Mini-500. I deleted the post because rather than comment, you made it personal...

What can I do with my 582?

Deleted the body of the post. I can do whatever I want in my own shop. Mini-500's are deathtraps. I had many good friends killed. Good friends, experienced pilots, mechanically savvy. I am both, more than you can imagine. To suggest that it was the pilots fault is terribly misinformed...

Anybody want to build one of these?

I've got a couple of ex-korean war drone pulse jets for sale. They powered the drones up to 350 mph! I believe they are around 175 lbs of thrust, they are very light in weight and very powerful, much more thrust than the homemade ones shown here! Surplus new in the box. $1900.00 each. I...

    Rotax 582 Alternative Possibility

Anytime I see a thread about power adders to the 582 I want to bring up the Revolution Mini-500. I built one of these deadly helicopters and was subjected to 4 engine failures, 2 on the ground and to in air. I am a rated heli pilot and very experienced in 2 strokes so my skills cannot be...
