What are you doing in addition to flying?

Started building my next Sonex. I wasn't going to build any more airplanes after crashing Miss Mitty, but apparently "it's what I do"

    1/2 scale warbirds

Update on Miss Mitty. She is no more. On landing I got sloppy and let my concentration lapse for a few seconds checking airspeed just as a xwind gust moved me off the narrow strip and into the wheat field. Correction was too little, too late. I found myself trapped crunched upside down in a...

    FL760 issue

Aha! I solved the problem! I had hooked up the radio to a spare battery thru a continuity tester, which pulled the voltage below what the radio was happy with. So it kept shutting down, then trying to power up again. I noticed the continuity tester light going off and on with the radio...

    1/2 scale warbirds

I'm in the "just use paint to make your sport plane look like a warbird" camp. Miss Mitty is a delightful bird to fly and the decision to go warbird was seeing how "spitfirely" she looked while building. It helped as well that a real Spit is mounted on a pylon in my town.
