    Russia Luna 25 Crash

Aliens did not shoot down the Russian spacecraft. No one saw us shoot down the Russian spacecraft. You can’t prove a thing. Signed, Lizard General Brxfzt Commander, Lunar Observation Detachment. (Apologies to Bart Simpson)

    Small Fortune Opertunity

Agreed! When (if) they actually get it airborne, it will be a small flying machine, not a car. Bumpers, passenger compartment reinforcement, etc, etc. safety regulations for cars will inflate the weight far beyond their dream.

    Movies with Cool Aircraft Featured

There was a French film, Les Chevaliers du Ciel, sort of a Top Gun imitation. Good flying sequences, almost no CGI.

WIG (Wing In Groundeffect) without the need for large engine. My proposal. Too crazy ??

The speed differential could present a problem, but I have seen the hydrofoils in very busy ports like Hong Kong and they seem to operate safely. They just stay slow when close in or near other boats, but really open it up once they reach open water.

Interest in EAA Chapter / Youth / Non-Profit Airplane Build Program

Update for all of us tech-Neanderthals: only gibberish from my shiny new iPhone, but my 12 year old PC downloaded the file just fine. And it is very informative, thank you very much, VB! I'll nominate you for a No Bell prize (not the other one).

Interest in EAA Chapter / Youth / Non-Profit Airplane Build Program

Got only gibberish as well, on my iPhone. Will try again tomorrow on my big old computer. My EAA chapter is actively researching projects to do and your guide will no doubt help. But we have learned that at least some HBA members are interested in this. Thanks.

What happens to the fly ?

Cleared for TO, you see an insect on your windscreen. Q. At what velocity will it finally let go? A. Bug speed.

Crashes in the News - Thread

I kinda disagree; I dumped fuel several times in the last 4-5 years of my career with a major US carrier (B-767ER & B-777). Not for major emergencies, just well-defined maintenance problems or passenger/compliance issues. The Company decided the cost of the gas and a short delay to refuel was...

    Homemade snowplane 4 stroke motor

I like it! Used auto headers for your frame, shock struts for the pivoting main gear, er, skis, bicycle handlebars & a skull! Very creative & very clever! BTW, I think changing your prop for higher speed will cost you in acceleration. There are always trade offs, you’ll have to find the...
