Hey everyone,
I have (what I thought) was a relatively straight forward question:
On a powered ultralight, what is the normal amount of thrust produced to achieve respectable flight characteristics?
I've seen some numbers ranging from 30 to 300 lbs of static thrust for varying aircraft, but no indication as to what your run-of-the-mill, 3-axis fix-wing ultralight would need to get off the ground.
If it makes a difference, I'm specifically curious if 50 or so lbs of thrust could get a 400 or so lbs (loaded) aircraft into the sky. I know that is pretty non-specific, I'm simply looking for a ballpark "it will fly" or "It wont fly". Thanks for the help,
