Successfully test our improved D2 PSRU, one had the gears polished by mechanical means and the other one was polished using the C.A.S.E™ - Isotropic Super Finishing, and definitely there is a difference in temperatures. The box with gears polished by mechanical means after running the prop at 2.400 RPM/1hr temperature outside of the box was 95C . With the C.A.S.E™ - Isotropic Super Finishing running the prop at 2.400 RPM/1hr temperature of the outside of the box was 25C. Unsure of the oil Temp, but subsequent test the box will be fitted with Temp sensors and lubricated with the engine oil. Using a stethoscope, noise levels too were considerable down.
